The weekend

Well another weekend is upon us. Off we go to park city to the outlets to buy some fun stuff a Nike+ some cute clothes for Claire and what ever else catches our fancy.
So while where were out shopping I saw the funniest thing ever, an M&M's machine that looked like a soda dispenser, pretty cool huh?

So the Carters Store was having a huge blow out 50% off or better sale so we ended up dropping some serious coin on new clothes for Claire, hopefully we won't need anymore for some time now.
Then later as we were driving home from park city we took wasatch blvd to get back home and drove past La Caille and I said some time we should all go just for dessert, if they would allow that. Mom seemed pretty excited about,  so when we got home I called LaCaille and set up a reservation for 9PM for dessert only.  Now the cool thing is this was a night of firsts for Mom.
She had never been to La Caille, she had Never heard the "Devil went down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniel's band and had never seen Villa Bellissimo!  Fun stuff!

Vegas Baby!

Well Hello!
Its been a while since i Last wrote anything, and there is a bit to write about now!  So we were in Vegas and San Diego last week.  Ok so here is the skinny.  We had planned to goto Vegas for Labor day, so I took the whole week off!! Yeah Hoo!  Well knowing that september is a good month for me at work I decided to check out the WRDC Upgrades Vegas Office, and I did pretty good down there for only 2 1/2 days working.
My friend Kit Flanders came up from Arizona where he is stationed, He is in the air-force.  Unfortunately for Kit hurricane Gustave had other Plans for him.  So he had to leave early.
Ashleigh and I saw Blueman Group, it was good not great.  Ashleighs sister Gwen came with us, It was Great to have her there to help with Claire.  Gwen and I went to see Mystere, and then Later that week Ash and Gwen saw Zumanity, which was good not great.  Mystere is always Fantastic!
We had our fill of Vegas and decided to Head down to Coronado in San Diego California to see Stay and Brian.  It also was Brian's 35th Birthday!  They took us to the beach, and let us stay in their Master sweet with a view of the ocean, and they took us sailing it was a lot of fun. makes me almost want to move there, almost.
Ok so bellow are some random photos from our trip enjoy!

I had been planning a great road trip, but have decided that I have already spent way to much time on vacation this year, especially with Hawaii and Vegas coming up so soon. My brother has one of the largest Vinyl collections I have ever seen, so we bought him USB record player so he can convert them over Yeah! Any how. Things are going very good over here I am probably going on a hike this saturday for anyone that would like to join me at the top of Brighton to the 3 Lake. well thats all for now thanks.

Wyndham 'Wish to Reality' Golf Championship

Monday was our company picnic. Prior to the Picnic we had a golf tournament. It was for Charity so I entered, I am that good :).
Casey Adamson, Keith Nielson, Jason Case, and I were on a team. We tied for last place, I'm just kidding, but I do know the winning team was 17 strokes ahead of us. It was a lot of fun, other than destroying my driver. Casey is a good teacher too, my game got better near the end.

San Francisco Labor day 2007

This was our first Fly to weekend trip! we stayed in the our property in SANFRAN. Ashleigh was only 7 months pregnant, which if I would have thought about it I would not have planned a walking intensive trip to San Francisco. So I thought that I was being very clever, and I booked the earliest flight out of Salt Lake on Southwest, but I didn't look to see what connections if any we had, so we left at 6:30 am only to have a 3 hr layover in vegas.  But we made the most of it, we went to a Buffet!!
San Fran is a beautiful city!  We did not rent a car, I think you are mental if you rent a car there!  Anyway so we took BART from the airport to Powell st.  Since Ash was Prego I was the designated luggage rack.  The six blocks we walked up hill to the hotel seemed like and eternity.  We had arrived a little early, but the resort staff kindly stored out luggage and away we went.  I have in the past been an avid travel channel watcher and I wanted to eat at the stinking rose.  If you are wondering, its overrated.

We made it through China town only buying one T-shirt, and it was only a lousy $2. I should have brought some back for my lousy friends. Then it was down to fisherman’s warf. Ash and I have already decided that after walking down to the Warf there was no way we were walking back. One of the best bowls of Chowder that you will ever eat is at the Blue Mermaid, It is a crab chowder served in a sourdough bowl(skip the Pizza, not that good). We took a cab back to the hotel and crashed!
I called up a tour company and set up a San Fran City tour but “Deluxe Motor Coach” e.g. BUS, and a tour of Muir wood, and Sausalito. It was very fun to hear about the city. Muir woods which is an old growth( only a couple THOUSAND years) redwood forest, was amazing, my only regret here is that they only gave us an hour. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! Later that night it was back to the Warf to drop some more cash on food, yum yum!
The next day we took what is still my favorite tour, we went to Alcatraz. The have a self guided audio tour narrated by some of the original inmates, its awesome, and the views of the city from the island, incredible!!!
Ok so I almost left out (with good reason) Ash was not happy with me the night of the tour to Alcatraz, there was a lot of walking to get to the pier where it left from, and a lot of walking on the island, and she had had it. The Cable car terminal that would take us back to the hotel was only ½ mile away down at the Warf, and I made her walk instead of getting a cab, or waiting an hour for the streetcar. All in all though it was a great fun trip and I would go back just for the Chowder!

P.S. Ashleigh was an extremely good sport through out the whole trip, I can't believe that she did what she did when she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. She really is a Super Women, super sexy too!!!!

My 31st Birthday

OK, So I was thinking since my 32nd birthday is fast approaching, I would fill everyone in on what I did for my last birthday.  Ashleigh was still working for Trendwest Resorts in their Marketing department. One of her Girlfriends had gotten engaged in a hot air balloon ride. She had finally found a gift that I would never give myself.  So she called up the Hot Air balloon ride people, and did not share with them that she was 7 months pregnant.
Any way our Pilot was from Austria, and he was a lot of fun. While we were airborne Ash asked him how young the youngest they would take in the balloon. He responded that the children must be old enough to listen, and follow directions, and we never under any circumstances allow pregnant women.  Ashleigh gave me a worried look to which the pilot responded, "you aren't pregnant are you?" "Yes(Ashleigh replied sheepishly) "How far along?" "7 months." Needless to say he was a little concerned you see while hot air ballooning is the safest form of air travel it always comes with the threat of a hard landing. All in all it was a fantastic birthday, and one if not the best birthday present I have ever received. Thanks honey! I love you very much!!!!

The weekend activities

OK, so things did not go exactly as planned, first off I was to tired to go golfing, so I just whimped out on that.
Friday night we had a few people from work over, Ryan Jones must have ended up in Davy Jones Locker cause he did not show, but in attendance were the Case's, Keith and Terra Nielson, Amy and the Boy next door(Will).  All in all it was a very fun evening, the girls dominated in Catch Phrase, but the men finally delivered in Rockband.
Saturday Morning: Mary did enter the Open Fiddle competition for the Utah Founders Title Blue grass festival at Snowbird, and took second place.   That was a very early morning for me after having stayed up friday night playing games.  After we were done up at the Festival, we came back home, and Andrew, and my friend Eddie took the jeep out for a test run for the "Big Trip".  We traveled up american fork canyon and took the left fork up and over the mountain.  The ride was thrilling as exhilarating a we hurtled over rocks and moguls.  In fact the ride was so intense that Eddies seat-belt broke, and he had to change sides.
Sadly the jeep did not pass the test, about half way through the trip the check engine light came on.  I didn't think too much about that until we were headed up the Alpine loop Back through American Fork canyon and we suffered some power loss.  That convinced me that there was no way that the jeep would make it through Bartsow in 130 degree temp.
We stopped off at Zermatt Resort and Spa, for a bit of refreshing Italian Ice.  Then Eddie and Andrew played Shuffle board.  We came back home, and were exhausted, that bumpy ride really takes it out of you.
Sunday Morning: Peter Decided to enter the Open finger style guitar competition, but found out that they would not allow a partial capo, so he switched to the Novice division and had to quickly relearn a new song.  He did great he Placed in the top 3!  After that Ash Claire and I spent a nice relaxing time at home, and at the end of the evening  Ash and I retreated to the Theatre and Watched "Strange Wilderness" if you haven't seen it, don't its stupid.

Then later saturday afternoon Andrew and I are going to take the jeep out for a drive. It is a pre-test for my big roadtrip to Yosemite and back at the end of this month. Anyway stay posted(HA, posted, get it, posted) for all of the upcoming fun. Oh and then to top it all off one of my best friends kid brothers is reporting from his mission to mother russia this sunday, so there will be no rest for me this weekend, but thats the way I like it.

Memorial Day 2008

This is Gonna be fun.  So for this long weekend we are flying into Seattle, and then Headed over to Victoria.  My good friend from Chicago, Jason is Flying in with his lovely wife Liz to vacation with us.
Day one we picked up Jason and liz from the airport and head off to the Seattle Space needle.  The view from up there was incredible, the food was good, But as all food in seattle, over priced.  After Lunch we dropped off our stuff at the historic Camlin hotel, and decided to go shopping.
Ashleigh still has her oregon license which means in Washington we don't pay sales tax, and wouldn't you know it Seattle had a LUSH store(if you have never tried their products if you like you wallet being fat Stay away, but if you are up to indulge the walk in) Needless to say i dropped a couple hundred dollars in that store.
For dinner we had decided to take the recommendation of the concierge at the hotel and Jason and Liz treated us to a nice Sushi Dinner.  'Editors note Sake goes well with Sushi'
Day 2:
4am in the morning, are you frickin kidding who planned this... oh yeah that would be me.  If you ever goto victoria remember that it is after all and Island, and to get there you are subject to the ferry schedule.  We took the Washington State  ferry to Sidney on Vancouver Island.
Let me just say that the Worldmark in Victoria has one of the nicest locations that I have ever seen, its right on the harbor, we were totally spoiled.
Victoria is an amazing city, it gets my top vote for a summer home when I retire.  The superior Restaurant just across from the resort has some of the best food you will ever eat, but it is a little pricey, and the portions are small.  Victoria is a fun city to walk around and relax in, it is the 2nd most relaxing vacation that I have taken(alaskan Cruise is #1).
The sunsets are to die for!

Day 3:
Butchart Gardens:  These are by far the nicest gardens that I have ever been to in my life, well worth the price, the underwater sea gardens in Victoria  is a waste of time.
Back to Butchart, Jason decided that it would e a cool picture if Liz tried doing a hand Stand, since she was wearing a dress she was worried about staying modest.  Jason promised that he would hold her dress up for her, as she went upside down Liz immediately realized the folly of this, as she had to hold her top half in " JASON JASON, MY BOOBS ARE FALLING OUT" lucky for Liz she did react fast and was not exposed.
Day 4: Ashleigh and I dropped Jason and Liz off at the airport, our time coming to an end.  We stayed with Rachel and Nathan Ash's Sister and got to visit with our very cute nieces and Nephew.
Day 5: Fly home and goto work! I love my job!

P.S. I should mention I'l bet you are wondering about the sleazy mustache! Well it was Mustache Mayhem, so everyone (that was cool) grew a mustache for may and we had T-shirts made up, and gave the leftover money to the charity Wish to Reality.

March 8-10 2008 San Diego

Last Labor day we flew to San Fransisco, and we had such a good time doing the long weekend getaway that I decided it was high time that we did more fly to Destination. This was Claries first Plane Flight, and she did Awesome. I must say she is spoiled, She is now 7 moths old when we took this trip she was only 3 months.
We went to Sea World, Claire did not like the Sham Slam. As seen in the pictures. We walked Seaport Village, toured the USS Midway aircraft carrier, I think it is funny the smell old military stuff has, its all the same smell. And we hung out on the beach for a little. It was a day at the beach to be sure.
We look forward o visiting San Diego again in the near Future. Also San Diego is My #1 Pick to live during the winter when I retire, but judging from the real estate prices down there, I am not alone in my delusions. Ha!
Take care and expect more soon.
Get out and have some fun Life is to short to stay inside.

Work Work Work all I do is Work 1st Weekend in Feb 2008

Ok, So its hard working in the vacation industry. You constantly have to go from place to place learning about new things. Well Feb 1st we had a company weekend at midway. There are few words that can describe the events that took place, let me see... This year we were not involved in a 8 sled pile up so that was a plus. Brian and Candice had a good time. I think the best word to describe this event was Epic! Well I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Vegas Jan 25-27th Claire's first trip

ok, ok I know this is a little Backwards, but I thought that I should start at the most recent beginning.  So when Claire was barely a month old I found some Bonus time at one of our resorts down in Las Vegas, ( one of my favorite places in the whole world) and to we took off.  Claire was amazing.  She woke up right around St.  George and we fed her.  Then she slept until we got to Vegas.
So things are a little different with a Child, you worry about the smoke in the Casino's, so instead of trying to take in a Show we walked the strip watched the fountains at Bellagio, and Claire's Favorite we went to F.A.O. Schwarts in Cesars Palace, but what she loved the most was the fish tank in the mall.

Hello

Ok,
So here I am, here am I.
Well not so sure about this whole blogging thing, but I have been told by some of my friends that I am not doing a good job of keeping anyone informed or up to date. By the way its 2AM so it this is a little woooky then u know why. Anyway so in an effort to keep people up to date with my little family Here goes.

Ok so we now like in utah, even though I still have a washington licensce. Even got pulled over by a cop in Park city and He only ticketed me for speeding( I never speed) and that was that, by the way when is the last time that a cop actually wrote u up for more than 5 over the limit?

I work for a vacation ownership company in the owner enhancement department. The pay is good and the environment is very desirable, I dare say that it is the best job I have ever had.

Ashleigh is now a stay at home mom for the forseable future.

Well don't expect more and if you get it just be happy
David signing off.
